A typical 4+1 in downtown Chicago needed a dramatic renovation to match the active young residents’ lifestyles. Altering the front walk to create a formal sense of entry into the building starts this transformation. Earthen colors of sage, celery and cobalt coordinate with wood and glass wall finishes create a warm inviting atmosphere.

Redstone Village

Seven years after phase I completion, Redstone Village called on studio 121, to update the design for phase IVs Inedependent Living apartment wing addition with aquatic center. This project maintains the traditional bones while updating the interiors. In addition to the new wing, a full master plan will be created by studio 121 for implementation with capital expenses.

Sojourn - A Riverside Community

Sojourn is more than a rehabilitation center within the skilled nursing component of its senior living community. It is an environment that heals the body and soul of these residents. Drawing from the punctuations of life marketing campaign, Studio 121 infused iconic brand images amidst a luxurious, spa-like atmosphere. This project demonstrates Studio 121’s ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and successfully address budget challenges without compromising the integrity of the design.

Healthways World Headquarters

Healthways wanted a new corporate headquarters to support a cutting-edge culture and business model. Full wireless access, over 250 conference rooms and an open plan layout that eliminates hierarchy makes this a unique corporate interior. Studio 121 collaborated with the client and design team to deliver a design solution that is a living and breathing brand statement. Modern and sleek meets artistic in every inch of this 255,000 square foot office space.

Baptist Hospital

Sometimes established organizations and existing spaces just need a fresh perspective — a new way to express their strength in the marketplace. Studio 121 worked with Baptist Hospital to make an impression in their Education Center. The design team explored historic images and brand icons in order to develop a new visual language for the hospital brand. Murals, signage and other visual tools were used to communicate the history of the organization while opening the doors to a successful future. These cosmetic renovations were accomplished within a tight budget and timeframe in a way that pushed the envelope and helped this organization embrace change.

Brooklyn Boulevard

Studio 121 is creating a fresh experience for a traditional operational model in this 174-bed assisted living facility in Brooklyn, projected to be complete in 2012. This HUD project demonstrates that exceptional design can be achieved on every project. An inspired palette of chocolate brown, cream, poppy red and emerald green adds a vibrant edge to classic lines and details. Asymmetrical patterns, interesting prints and eye-catching wood details make statements throughout the interior. From opening up space to developing a brand statement that re-defines a traditional decor, Studio 121 energized the assisted living experience.

Forest Hills Baptist Church

Forest Hills Baptist Church wanted a bright, modern, retail-inspired environment to appeal to the congregation’s youth. Studio 121 found exciting ways to engage this demographic within the existing space and allotted $70,000 FF&E budget. Graphics and imagery were explored and translated into interior elements such as drapery treatments to complement the existing architecture and design. An industrial edge, a commercial appeal, a lounge feel — this space with its white walls and colorful accents of saturated purple, orange and teal is like a 3D text message for this youthful audience. The interior now speaks to and truly captivates this cutting-edge end user.

Immanuel Lutheran Communities

The renovation and addition to the existing senior living community encompass an assisted living commons addition, independent living renovations and a new skilled nursing rehab cottage. Community spaces have new purposes in this facility and promote an active lifestyle. Natural materials and soft colors combine to create a casual, comfortable atmosphere. Open and hospitable, it is not your typical Vale resort. Unique design details reveal a new refreshed interior and innovative senior living experience.

Mission Ridge

Mission Ridge provides independent and assisted living accommodations for the Billings, Montana community. While they are known as the traditional option in the market, they understand the importance of capital upgrades to stay competitive. Studio 121 developed a phased master plan that breathes new life into the property within the Mission Ridge capital budget allotment. Senior appropriate furnishings as well as new carpet and a fresh coat of paint will provide the first layer of this renovation with artwork, signage and drapery treatments to follow in the coming year.

Danielle is the perfect addition to our team! She understands the grassroots of sustainability and identifies the truth in any green story. She uses this knowledge to support the team as they make informed design decisions and product specifications. She researches, identifies and works diligently to understand a company and its brand story. Her ability to dig deeper and find the true meaning behind these stories lays the foundation as the team creates expressive environments.

Danielle graduated from the CIDA accredited program at Ohio University with honors and is wearing many hats (well!) here at studio 121!
